ITINERARY

DAY 1: POTOSI, CHINANDEGA

Arriving from La Unión port in El Salvador to Potosí port in Nicaragua. Welcome and transfer to the city of Chinandega. Overnight in Chinandega.

DAY 2: FLOR DE CAŇA RUM FACTORY & COLONIAL LEON

Breakfast at the hotel. A Journey through the history of the most awarded rum in the world “Flor de Caña”.  You will be able to tour the factory and learn about how the rum is processed. You will see the Rum Vault, Rum Barrel storage centre; watch a video presentation of the history of the factory and its rum production. You will also be able to sample some of the delightful rum before visiting the Flor de Cana museum and shop at the boutique. Lunch included in a local restaurant. Afternoon visit into the charming Colonial city of Leon to stroll along the city’s town square and admire the intricate works at La Asuncion Cathedral. Lunch included. Overnight in Leon.

DAY 3: MASAYA VOLCANO & SHOPPING TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel.Explore the Masaya Volcano National Park and have a great time shopping for souvenirs at the city of Masaya, the handicrafts capitals of Nicaragua. This half day tour includes a visit to the Masaya Volcano, the first and largest national park establish in Nicaragua since 1979. This volcanically complex has an area of 54 km² includes two volcanoes and five craters having an elevation of 635 meters about sea level. This geological formation is part of the Quaternary volcanic range and its today, the only volcano in the western hemisphere where you are able to drive to the rim. Next, enjoy free time shopping for souvenirs at the city of Masaya including a visit to the famous hummocks factory and to the handicrafts market. Lunch included. Overnight in Granada.

DAY 4: GRANADA WALKING TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the Spanish-colonial city of Granada, the third-oldest city in the Americas founded by Spanish captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in 1524 on a walking tour. Overnight in Granada.

DAY 5.  MOMBACHO ADVENTURE

Breakfast at the hotel. Amazing expedition into the trails of the Mombacho's Volcano + Zip Line Tour! The Mombacho's Volcano Natural Reserve is one of the 78 protected areas of Nicaragua. Walk thru the nature trails between cloud and dwarf forest and discover yourself the most beautiful landscape of Nicaragua.  This tourist attraction has fantastic views of Lake Nicaragua and the city of Granada.  Enjoy a delicious lunch and spend the rest of the day Zip line or Canopy across the treetops at the Mombacho Volcano using the most advanced high angle equipment and technology. Overnight in Granada.

DAY 6.  OMETEPE ISLAND

Breakfast at the hotel. Land transfer to the port of San Jorge in Rivas, ferry crossing for the expedition to Ometepe Island declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in the year 2010. Today, you will enjoy some of the most spectacular views in all Nicaragua while we are visiting interesting places like the Numismatic and pre-Columbian museum El Ceibo,  we will spend time at El Ojo de Agua that consist of crystal clear spring-fed waters captured in two natural, stone pools set in the middle of a gorgeous and colorful botanical gardens. Lunch included.  Overnight in Santo Domingo beach at Ometepe Island.

DAY 7.  PEÑAS BLANCAS 

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer and ferry return to the port of San Jorge. Continue to the border south with Costa Rica.
